Ama Wada

Ingredients

  • 1 cup channa dal
  • 6 green chilies minced
  • 1-inch ginger grated
  • 1 bunch coriander leaves
  • 1/2 bunch of dil leaves chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon hing
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 cups of oil to deep fry

Directions

  • Soak channa dal for 2 hours in hot water.
  • Drain the water and grind dal, chilies, ginger, and hing with very little water.
  • Pour the ground dough in a mixing bowl and add dil and coriander leaves.
  • Add salt to taste and mix well.
  • Take 1 tablespoon of dough and make it into a small ball.
  • Flatten the ball and deep fry until golden brown.
  •  Remove the golden brown wada’s and drain the excess oil on a paper towel.
  • Serve it hot with chutney.
