Dahi Vada

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Urad Dhal (soak for 2 hours in hot water)
  • 6 Green chilies (optional)
  • ¼ inch Ginger
  • 2 cups whisked curd or sour cream
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 cups of oil to deep fry
  • 2 tablespoons of carrot
  • 2 tablespoons of chat masala

Directions

  • Blend soaked Urad dhal, green chilies, and Ginger. Keep stirring the dough and blend until it forms a peak – light and airy. Add salt to the dough.
  • Take an ice cream scoop full of dough and deep fry in the heated oil. Let it brown on both sides.  Remove and let the oil drain on a paper towel.
  • To the whisked curd add salt to taste and immerse the vada’s.
  • Sprinkle with shredded carrots and chat masala.
  • Soak overnight for all the vada’s to absorb the curd.
