Ingredients

  • 1 cup rice flour
  • ¼ cup semolina
  • 1 cup maida
  • ½ teaspoon ajwain
  • ¼ teaspoon hing
  • salt to taste
  • 4 tablespoons hot oil
  • 3 cups oil for deep frying
  • ½ cup fresh coconut
  • 1 teaspoon jeera
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • ¼ cup water, or as required

Directions

  • Mix all dry ingredients in a large bowl; rice flour, rava and maida, ajwain, red chili powder and salt in a bowl.
  • Add 4 tablespoons of hot oil and mix well.
  • Grind coconut, jeera to a smooth paste by adding little water.
  • Add this mixture to the dry flour mixture in the bowl.
  • knead to a smooth and soft dough.
  • Heat oil on a medium flame for deep frying.
  • Grease your fingers with oil and pinch out a small lemon size ball and roll between your palms to form a ¼ inch rope.
  • Bring the two ends together and press it.
  • The rings should be fried until golden brown, remove from the oil and let it drain on a paper towel.
  • When cool store in an airtight container.
