Rava Vada

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Rava
  • 3 green chilies ground
  • 2 tablespoons grated ginger
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves
  • 1 medium onion finely chopped
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 1/4 teaspoon hing
  • salt to taste
  • 3 cups oil to deep fry
  • small square foil/banana leaf

Directions

  • Mix Rava and Curd together.
  • Add ground chilies, grated ginger, cumin seeds, coriander leaves, hing and chopped onions to rawa and curd.
  • Mix well to form a dough.
  • Let the mixture sit for 1 hour.
  • After 1 hour add water if the mixture is too thick.
  • Heat oil for deep frying.
  • Grease with a teaspoon of oil the banana leaf or foil.
  • Take a lemon size ball of the dough and flatten it on the foil.
  • Make a hole in the center.
  • Drop it into the oil.
  • Follow the same process until the dough is finished.
  • Remove the wadas from the oil and let the oil drain on a paper towel.
  • Let it cool and store it in a tight container.
