Ribbon Pakoda

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of rice flour
  • 1 cup besan powder
  • 1/2 tablespoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon om powder or jeera
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 stick butter melted
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 cups of oil to deep fry

Directions

  • Mix all the flours together and sieve in a mixing bowl.
  • Add red chili powder, jeera, and salt.
  • Heat butter and add it to the mixing bowl.
  • Add water little at a time to make a pliable dough.
  • Prepare ribbon mold, add little dough at a time.
  • Make the ribbons on a banana leaf.
  • Heat 2 cups of oil.
  • Slowly put the ribbon into the oil, cook until golden brown.
  • Remove the ribbon from the oil and let the excess oil drain on a paper towel.
  • Store in an airtight container after it cools.
