Coriander
The fruit of the coriander plan contains two seeds which, when dried, are yellowish-brown in color with longitudinal ridges. It can be considered an herb as well as a spice, since both its leaves as well as the seeds are used as a seasoning condiment. Fresh coriander leaves are more commonly known as cilantro and resembles Italian flat parsley leaf.
Benefits
Coriander is diuretic in nature, an expectorant, anti-carcinogenic. It is good source of vitamin K, A and C. Contains manganese, potassium, copper, iron and calcium.
Coriander may help in the following:
- Soak raisins with coriander seeds overnight, drink first thing in the morning on empty stomach, reduces hyper acidity.
- To regulate digestive system, make watery buttermilk and two teaspoons of coriander powder.
