Saffron
Saffron is the dried threads of the flower of the Crocus Sativus plant. These stigmas are hand cultivated and harvested. Thus, making it the most expensive spices. These stigmas are also used to make medicine. In India it is cultivated in Jammu and Kashmir.

Saffron contains several plant-derived chemical compounds that are known to be antioxidant, disease preventing and promoting health properties. The active components in saffron have therapeutic applications; antiseptic, digestive. It is a good source of minerals of copper, potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron and zinc. It is rich in vitamins; vitamin A and C.

- It is used to loosen phlegm. Take a cup of warm water with a few strands of saffron. Mix half a teaspoon of honey and drink it.
