Chili Tofu/Paneer

Ingredients

  • 14 oz extra-firm tofu (press out all the water) or Paneer 
  • 1 large red bell pepper 
  • 8 broccoli flowerets 
  • 10 red chilies, whole 
  • 4 tablespoons oil 
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds 
  • ½ onion, minced 
  • 5 cloves of garlic, minced 
  • 1 teaspoon ginger 
  • 3 tablespoons tamari sauce or soy 
  • Salt to taste 
  • 2 tablespoon cilantro, minced 

Directions

  • Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a sauce pan. Saute red chili peppers, tofu cubes until they are golden-brown. Remove to a plate. 
  • Heat the remaining 2 teaspoon of oil and add the cumin seeds. When they sputter, add onion and garlic.  Sauté until golden brown. 
  • Add the broccoli and red bell pepper.  Sauté it. 
  • Add the tofu cubes and toss them with garlic, tamari sauce and ginger. Stir until well mixed and remove from the heat. 
  • Garnish with coriander and serve hot.
