Chana Dal Payasam (pudding)

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup Chana Dal
  • 1 tablespoon ghas ghas
  • ½ cup coconut milk
  • 1 cup water
  • ½ cup brown sugar or jaggery
  • 2 tablespoon ghee
  • 10 cashews pieced
  • 10 raisins
  • Pinch of cardamom

Directions

  • Clean chana dal and cook until smooth.
  • Roast ghas ghas and powder it.
  • In a pan, mix coconut milk, powdered jaggery and let it boil.
  • Add ghas ghas and chana dal to this hot mixture.
  • Cook it on low heat and keep stirring.
  • In another pan, roast cashews and raisins.
  • Transfer the nuts to payasam and mix well.
  • Add cardamom in the end.
