Chole Without Onion, Garlic And Tomatoes

Ingredients

  • 1 13 oz garbanzo beans
  • 2 tablespoons ghee or oil
  • 1/2 teaspoons cumin seeds
  • 1 bay leaf
  • Pinch asafetida
  • 1/2 cup coconut milk
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 2 teaspoons curry powder (recipe in the website)
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon ginger powder
  • 1 teaspoon amchur powder
  • ½ an avocado, smashed
  • 1 tablespoon coconut flour
  • 1 teaspoon kasoori methi (optional)
  • Salt to taste
  • ¾ cup water

Directions

  • In a saucepan melt ghee, add cumin, bay leaf and asafetida.
  • Add garbanzo beans after the cumin splutters.
  • Carefully smash the garbanzo beans a little.
  • Add coconut milk, garam masala, turmeric, curry powder, chili powder, ginger, salt and amchur powder.
  • Let it boil for 5 minutes, add avocado, coconut flour and methi.
  • Add little more water and let it come to a boil. The masala should be thick.
