Coconut Barfi

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh grated coconut
  • 1 cup desiccated coconut
  • 1 can coconut milk
  • 2 cups sugar
  • ½ cup of water
  • Pinch of saffron
  • 1/8 teaspoon of cardamom powder
  • 1 teaspoon of ghee (to prepare a plate)
  • Chocolate pieces (to decorate) (optional)

Directions

  • In a sauce pan, melt sugar, add coconut, milk, saffron.
  • Prepare a plate, add ghee to the plate and smear it around.
  • Keep stirring until all the liquid is gone and the mixture starts to leave the sides of the pan.
  • Add cardamom powder, just before you pour it into the prepared plate.
  • Cut into diamond pieces after it is cool a little.
  • Decorate with chocolate pieces.
