Kaju Barfi (Katli)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cashew nuts, powdered
  • 5 cup sugar
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1/8 teaspoon cardamom
  • 2 teaspoons ghee for cooking + 1 teaspoon for greasing a plate

Directions

  • Powder the cashews, ensure it is not very smooth
  • In a sauce pan, bring the water to a boil. Add sugar and let it melt.
  • Add the cashew powder slowly, making sure no lumps are formed.
  • Keep stirring on low heat until the mixture leaves the sides of the pan.
  • Add cardamom powder.
  • Transfer the mixture to the prepared plate.
  • Let it cool, cut into desired pieces.
