Kala (black) Chana

Ingredients

  • 1 cup black chana
  • 1-inch ginger (grated)
  • ½ teaspoon cumin seeds
  • ½ teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon chat masala
  • ¼ teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon amchur
  • ½ teaspoon garam masala
  • ½ bunch coriander leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • Lemon

Directions

  • Soak kala chana in hot water overnight.
  • Cook chana until it is soft.
  • In a pan heat oil.
  • Put cumin seeds and let it splutter.
  • Add all the dry masalas, roast until aroma.
  • Add cooked chana, salt and ginger.
  • Add water little water.
  • Mix well and keep it on the flame for few minutes.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and lemon juice.
