Ingredients

  • 2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • ½ stick soften butter
  • 2 teaspoons ajwain
  • 2 teaspoons black pepper, crushed
  • 2 teaspoons kasuri methi
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 green chili chopped
  • 1 pinch of asafoetida
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
  • Salt to taste
  • Water

Directions

  • Sieve all-purpose flour and baking soda together.
  • Add all the dry ingredients to the flour.
  • Add butter to the mixture.
  • Add water and make it a tight dough.
  • Cover and keep it aside for 30 minutes.
  • Preheat oven 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Pinch a lemon size dough and flatten it with hand.
  • Prepare all the dough similarly.
  • Place it on a baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes or golden brown.
  • Turn the matri over and back for another 15 minutes or golden brown.
  • Remove and cool on a wire rack.
  • Store in an airtight container.
