Milagu Vadai (Anjaneyar Vadai)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup urid dal soaked in hot water
  • ½ teaspoon pepper corns
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • 2 tablespoon rice flour

Directions

  • Drain the water from urad dal.
  • Grind urid dal to coarse paste without water, but sprinkle water if necessary.
  • Remove from grinder and put it in a bowl.
  • Add pepper corn, salt, rice flour and a 1 teaspoon of hot oil, mix well.
  • Take a sandwich bag, grease it with oil. Take 1 lemon size ball of the urid dal batter and place it on the sandwich bag.
  • Cover with another greased sandwich bag.
  • Take a flat bowl and press on this gently until the patti is thin.
  • Heat oil in a heavy bottom pan, drop the patti in this hot oil.
  • Fry until golden brown on both sides.
  • Repeat until all the mixture is complete.
