Pineapple & Watermelon Gojju

Ingredients

  • 1 Pineapple cored, cut into pieces 
  • 2 cups watermelon 
  • 2 tablespoons of puliogra gojju (pulikaachal) (recipe under marinade) 
  • 2 teaspoons rasam powder (recipe under spice mixes) 
  • 2 tablespoons oil 
  • 1/8 teaspoon mustard seeds 
  • Pinch of asafetida 
  • 1 tablespoon channa dal 
  • 8 curry leaves 
  • 1 cup water 

Directions

  • Heat oil in a sauce pan, add mustard seeds, asafetida, let it splutter. 
  • Add channa dal and curry leaves, roast until it is golden. 
  • Add pineapple, watermelon, puliogra gojju, rasam powder and salt. 
  • Add water and let it boil until it is 1/3 the quantity.
