Ingredients

  • ½ cup channa dal
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons grated coconut
  • Pinch of cardamom powder
  • ½ cup urad dal
  • ¾ cup rice flour
  • Pinch of salt
  • Oil to deep fry

Directions

  • Cook channa dal.
  • In a pot dissolve brown sugar in the water on a low flame.
  • Keep stirring, when it thickens add coconut and cardamom.
  • Let it cool and make equal size balls.

 

Covering

  • Soak urad dal and blend it
  • Add rice flour and salt.
  • In a fryer, add oil and let heat on low heat.
  • Dip the channa dal mixture in the urad dal and deep fry.
  • Repeat this process until all channa dal balls are deep fried in the urad dal mixture.
