Radish Curry

Ingredients

  • 3 cups radish cut into 1” pieces
  • 2 onions chopped
  • 4 tomatoes chopped
  • 3 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 2 tablespoons dhaniya (coriander) powder
  • 1 tablespoon jeera (cumin) powder
  • ½ teaspoon haldi (turmeric) powder
  • ½ teaspoon red chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • ½ bunch cilantro finely chopped

Directions

  • Heat pressure pan or regular pan and add oil.
  • Add dhaniya powder, jeera powder, haldi powder and stir for a minute.
  • Add chopped onions and fry till brown.
  • Add finely chopped tomatoes and sauté for 3 or 4 minutes till it blends well with onions.
  • Now, add chopped radish, salt, red chili powder and sauté for 3 minutes.
  • Cover the pan and pressure cook on medium heat for 1 whistle.
  • Let it cool down till all pressure come off.
  • Now open the lid, mix well and cook on medium heat for a minute.
  • Garnish with chopped coriander.
  • Note:
    • Radish contains water, so no need to add additional water while cooking in pressure pan.
    • This can be cooked in regular pan instead of pressure pan. Cook on low heat for 10 minutes approximately till the radish is cooked. Little water can be added while cooking in a pan.
    • Goes well with rotis / flat bread.
