Rice Kesari Bath

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rice
  • 2 cups Milk – boil and bring it down to 1 cup
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup almond powder (optional)
  • ¼ cup puree ghee (prefer homemade)
  • ½ teaspoon Kesari
  • 10 cashews and raisins each

Directions

  • Roast the rice in 1 teaspoon of ghee. Add 2 cups of water and let the rice cook.
  • Add 2 cups of sugar to the boiled down milk, add Kesari and let it boil (sugar should not crystalize).
  • When the quantity is reduced to half add cooked rice and powdered almonds.
  • Keep stirring.
  • Roast cashews and raisins in 2 tablespoons of ghee.
  • When the rice thickens add the ghee and roasted cashews and raisins.
