Sambar Powder

Ingredients

  • 1 cup urad dal
  • 1 cup channa dal
  • 2 cups coriander seeds
  • 1 and 1/2 cups dry desiccated coconut
  • 2 cups dry red chilies
  • 2 inch long cinnamon sticks
  • 10-12 pepper corns
  • 1 tsp methi seeds

Directions

  • In a non stick pan, add a little oil and separately roast urad dal and channa dal
  • Keep this aside on a platter
  • Next, fry the coriander seeds, with cinnamon, pepper corns and methi seeds
  • Keep this aside on a platter
  • Now fry the red chilies with a little bit of oil. This is the one which burns quite fast, so keep an eye
  • Add this to the platter
  • Finally, fry the dry coconut
  • Powder each ingredient and pour in a mixing bowl
  • Transfer this into a glass jar and tighten the lid
